Snow and roof

The accumulation of snow on a roof presents various risks due to the additional weight put on the roof but also to the wear of the roofing materials that it causes by making them more and more porous and permeable to cold. As for the risk of a sudden sliding of the snow accumulated on the roof, it is limited in very snow-covered regions - such as here at Pierre Daniel’s in Haut-Jura - by installing devices which stop the snow. Adapted to each type of roofing - from shingles on rafters to corrugated iron - they can be placed all over the roof or all around its lower part.
