Their weight has dropped from 30 to 10 grams! For several years, Mediterranean sardines have been refined and their size is decreasing! IFREMER researchers have conducted several studies to understand the reasons for such a change. They concluded that due to climate change plankton was less abundant. This microalgae is the favorite food of sardines. The latter would therefore eat less plankton and therefore smaller and smaller!
