Off-piste skiing in the Val d’Enfer

0
On the Northern slope of Puy de Sancy, Val d'Enfer off-piste skiing area is popular among Auvergne freeriders. Easily accessible by the Sancy cable car, it boasts different routes with evocative names: Les Demoiselles, l’Infaisable, l’Entonnoir, etc. Some corridors start at the top of the Pas de l'Âne while others require to go up on foot towards GR30 trail, and progress along the ridges until Puy Redon. Facing North, Val d'Enfer’s slopes are very steep and often icy. Some routes need a thick snow cover but most are still passable in the spring.
