Seven generations of Sabran-Tézenas

Hermann Sabran, the grandson of Simon Sabran, the first owner from the Sabran lineage of Brégançon Castle, allowed the return of the Var domain to the family by marrying Hélène Chappon, the daughter of its second owner, in 1869. Deprived of direct descendants following the death of their only daughter Renée at the age of eight, he bequeathed his property to his nephew, Francis Sabran, in 1914. The latter married the daughter of the owners of the neighboring Château Léoube, Marguerite Gérard, then passed on Brégançon Castle to their only daughter Marguerite Sabran who married Georges Tézenas du Montcel. The current owner of Brégançon Castle, Olivier Tézenas, is their grandson.
