Septmoncel-les-Molunes, a wooded and mountainous commune

The commune of Septmoncel-les-Molunes is located at an altitude of 3,149 feet (960 meters) south of the Haut Jura, 6.2 miles (10 km) away from the town of Saint-Claude and 31 miles (50 km) from Geneva. It results from the merger in 2017 of the territories of the municipalities of Septmoncel and Les Molunes and is part of the Haut Jura Regional Natural Park. Three discovery circuits - around the lapidaries (cutting and polishing of colored stones), chamois and 'diots' (small sausages) of Jura - have been created on its very wooded and mountainous territory.
