SEPECAT Jaguar A no91

Built in 1977, the Franco-British SEPECAT Jaguar A no91 fighter aircraft took part in several missions in Chad and other theatres of operations. During the Gulf War, on 17 January 1991, the French Jaguars operated the first offensive mission against the Kuwaiti base of Al-Jaber, suspected of harbouring Iraqi Scud ground-to-ground missiles. They had to fly at low altitude and were unaware that the Iraqi base was heavily defended. Four aircraft were hit by missiles but managed to return to their base. Among them, the Jaguar no91, presented to the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace (Air and Space Museum), had its right engine destroyed.
