The Provençal Colorado offers its visitors four freely accessible trails. The shorter one, which rises over a short kilometer of steep terrain, leads to the Fairy Chimneys. These picturesque columns surmounted by pointed caps dominate the hill scraped by the pickaxes of the workers of yesteryear. Their suggestive forms were created by differential erosion between the hard silcrete caps and the softer layers of ocher.
