Cave diving, even in open caves, is not riskless and requires a strict application of safety gestures. Even when the exit remains visible, the diver does not have any direct access to the surface in case of problem. The first rule to respect is not to turn the open cave diving into total darkness diving i.e not to venture too far from the exit and to make sure to have a functional torch and possibly an emergency one.
