Directly resulting from a revolt of Champagne winegrowers in 1911, the COGEVI (General Winegrowers Cooperative) was created in 1921. Passionate people determined to preserve their heritage, know-how, and independence opened a museum dedicated to wine trades in the Cité du Champagne in Aÿ. Its collection displays numerous machines and tools from the COGEVI's heritage fund. Most are made of wood, and their simplicity serves as a reminder of the basics of the winegrower's profession.
