The methods of flax cultivation are rooted in Norman traditions. The fibers produced in the region have always had the reputation of being the finest and silkiest. While straw was mostly threshed in mills in the past, the Terre de Lin cooperative has never ceased to innovate. It harvests flax in two rows thanks to machines that separate the seeds. In the cooperative's factory, the conveyor belt of the scutching process crushes and beats layers of straw until obtaining the flax fibers responsible for the region's reputation.
