The 'Leap of the Warrior' forms a 23ft (7m) wide crack in the 98ft (30m) high cliff which borders the Pacific Ocean on the northeast coast of Maré. According to the legend which gave its name to the site, a warrior would have crossed this crack with a single jump, thus escaping his enemies who would have fallen into the hypnotic blue waters below.
