1
0
In the 9th century, one of the ancient capitals of the Balagne is built on a rocky peak at 500 m (1,640 ft) in altitude. The village of Sant' Antonino allowed to take refuge and defend during the Moorish invasions in Corsica. About 70 typical houses curl up against each other, its narrow streets forming a protective labyrinth. There is only one road to get there, starting from Cateri about 4 km (2,5 mi) away. On foot or by donkey, discovering its vaulted passages, the old bread oven, the old chapel or almond orchards offers an enchanting historical journey.
