grande plante herbacée de la famille des Adoxacées, au feuillage odorant, mesurant 1 à 2 mètre de haut.les peties fleurs blanches apparaissent entre juin et août. Ses baies noires sont toxiques.
A ne pas confondre avec le Sureau noir.
on les différencie car les fleurs et les baies du Sureau yèble sont toujours dirigées vers le haut. Alors que les baies du Sureau noir sont retombantes.
