'Salins de Kô', at the heart of the New Caledonian salt production

In 2015, the OPT (Post Office and Telecommunications of New Caledonia) put into service an original stamp at 450FCFP (3.7€) which reproduces the 'Salins de Kô', located in Poingam, in the far north of Grande-Terre. The production of Caledonian salt - which had ceased for a long time - was relaunched there 5 years earlier by Jean Broudissou, the manager of the Relais de Poingam with the initial objective of supplying its lodging and the local traders with salt.
