Sainte-Agnès' medieval center

The center of the village of Sainte-Agnès, in the Alpes-Maritimes, is full of calades, sloping roads paved with pebbles. They are lined with old stone houses built between the 14th and 15th centuries. Vaulted passages or arches spanning cobbled alleys are legion, to the point of giving their names to a street with a terracotta plaque. Other plaques, like Montée du Seigneur Haroum or Rue des Sarrasins (Saracens Street), refer to the historical legends surrounding the medieval village.
