Sainte-Agnès in the mist

Clouds of mist regularly form in contact with the relief of the mountain of Sainte-Agnès in the Alpes-Maritimes department. They develop when the air, particularly humid due to the proximity of the Mediterranean Sea, cools as it gains altitude. The water particles condense as they rise and cool, giving birth to a cloud that the airflow sticks to the relief. At a lower altitude, on the other hand, the air heats up and dispels the mist.
