Château construit par les Ducs de Bretagne entre le 15è et le 17è siècle;
Le Grand Donjon a été édifié en premier. C'est une haute construction au plan en fer à cheval. Il en résulte une silhouette originale avec son grand pignon tourné vers la ville, son haut toit qui couvre en partie un chemin de ronde crénelé sur mâchicoulis et ses deux tourelles de guet.
Il abrite le Musée d’Histoire de la Ville et du Pays Malouin.
