Listed as a Historical Monument in 1942, the Gothic church of Saint-Brice of Ay was built in the 15th century. Two dates are written in the staircase leading to the portal gallery: 1441 and 1454. A stone tower was added to the church around 1550 and topped with an arrow. Yet, a fire quickly destroyed its vaults, and the tower was consolidated with four massives buttresses almost reaching the cornice. An archivolt composed of a triple rib emphasizes the curve above the door. It alternates scenes from Saint Brice's life with working winegrowers and legendary animals, loved by medieval stonemasons.
