Saint-Aubin lock is located on the southern edge of the eponymous commune, downstream from the so-called 'Joigny diversion' canal which doubles the Yonne river at Joigny and crosses the territory of Saint-Aubin for 1.8 miles (3 km). Built in the aftermath of World War II, this 301 feet (92 m) long by 32 feet (10 m) wide lock is inclined on both sides and equipped with a floating pontoon to facilitate the passage of boats.
