The male sable antelope is recognizable by its black coat, with a black-and-white face and its beautifully curved horns, reaching up to 63 inches (1.6m). The female has a brown coat, and its horns are less rounded and shorter. Ruminant antelope and diurnal, its favourite habitat is a mixture of woodland savannahs and grasslands.
