Rustrel in its environment
1
0
The village of Rustrel is located 1,312 feet (400 meters) above sea level in the Vaucluse department, between the Luberon and the rocky Monts de Vaucluse covered with holm oaks and interspersed with valleys. Located 6.2 miles (10 kilometers) north-east of Apt, Rustrel dominates the basin. The commune of 2,826 hectares is watered by the Doa, a tributary of the Calavon formerly used for ocher construction sites, garden watering and to operate the grain mills which are now in ruins or have disappeared. The Doa Valley is still cultivated with vines, olive trees, fruit trees, cereals and a little fodder.
