The Alexandre-III bridge is lit by 32 bronze candelabras, manufactured by the art foundry Lacarrière Delatour & Cie. The balustrades each support 14 three-branched lights, decorated alternately with a cockerel for France, a boat for Paris, a two-headed eagle for Russia. At both ends of the bridge, near the pylons, stand 4 five-branched candelabras. The columns of the latter are decorated with a ‘Ronde d’Amours’ (round of Cupids), sculpted by Henri-Désiré Gauquié (1858-1927) and cast by the Thiébaut Foundry. The bronze cherubs bear garlands and dance among river fish.
