The giraffe contributes to the maintenance of tree savannahs. It especially likes acacia leaves, that it grazes superficially to avoid exhausting them. By being browsed, acacias seem to grow in height. Moreover, as this animal is moving from a tree to another, the giraffe may have a role as a mammal pollinator of acacia trees.
