The gestures of this young Marquesan hunter of Eiao to prepare the slaughtered animals with the know-how and concentration of a professional butcher are a real ritual. Passed from father to son, they were inculcated by the ancestors hunters to whom he paid tribute on the plateau's marae. Accomplished with solemnity and modesty, they show the men's respect for their preys.
