The vineyard has provided Riquewihr with wealth since the Roman era. In the region of Ribeauvillé-Riquewihr, there are no less than 50 cellars, home to 13 Grands Crus. Two rare and prestigious mentions complete them: the Late Harvests and the Selections of Noble Grapes. These terms designate exceptional wines, often sweet or syrupy. They are exclusively made from Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Riesling, or Muscat d'Alsace grape varieties. The Late Harvests come from grapes collected when they are overripe, often several weeks after the official start of the harvest. The Selections of Noble Grapes are obtained by successive sorting of grapes affected by noble rot.
