0
The jackfruit is a polydrupe with a spiky skin which can weigh up to 90 pounds (40kg). It is the largest fruit from a fruit tree. Bulbous and cauliflorous, it grows directly on the trunk and large branches of the jack tree from its third year. The particularly abundant and sticky latex secreted by all parts of this tree of the Moraceae family disappears from the fruit when it is perfectly ripe.
