The archaeological excavations carried out at Cluny Abbey since 2015 have notably made it possible to find a kitchen or an apothecary from the 14th century. They also allowed specifying the organization of the monastic infirmary destroyed during the reconstruction of the conventual buildings in the 18th century. During a verification survey carried out opposite to the excavation, they also made it possible to update the first treasure ever found in a Cluniac monastery. Dating from the 12th century, it includes 2,200 Cluniac deniers, 21 Arab dinars, a small gold ingot, and a signet ring.
