If the Estérel massif is associated with the red color of its rhyolitic rocks rich in hematite similar to the Îles d'Or's (Golden Island), one also finds - in a more limited extent- blue porphyry of the Estérel also known as esterellite. This slowly cooling rock is a quartz microdiorite that only outcrops in the southern part of the massif, that is to say, the region of Agay and Cap Dramont where the Golden Island extends. The beach of Dramont (background), for example, consists of esterellite pebbles.
