Reverberation boxes

The Philharmonie is located in the north-east of Paris, in the heart of the Parc de la Villette. In the Pierre Boulez Hall, floating balconies create intimate spaces. During concerts, the sound also passes behind the balconies. It will bounce off a wall covered with caissons that ensure optimal sound reverberation. The size and position of the boxes were determined by the acousticians on the basis of a 1/10th scale model of the hall. The result is clear and warm acoustics.
