Cleared of the old museum structures from the 1980s, the galleries around the cloister have been returned to a state similar to that of the early days of the Unterlinden Museum. Old wooden ceilings have been uncovered and long-walled windows now look out onto the cloister or onto the Unterlinden pedestrian square, created in 2015. The church roof has been refurbished and restored to its original state with aged flat tiles. The choir area was given a geometric design with glazed tiles. In the church, a new wooden floor was laid to replace the clay tiles that were still damp.
