Replanting of the banks of the Canal du Midi

On the Canal du Midi, VNF (Voies Navigables de France) is tackling the difficult task of a project to replant and restore the canal banks. This is in order to preserve the ecosystem and replace trees that were felled to prevent the spread of colored canker.
This project is built on strong principles: choosing large subjects to ultimately restore the tree canopy effect, respecting the spacing of trees, maintaining or restoring symmetry on both shores, and many more.
