Like the Gray Reef Shark, the Blacktip Shark, quite fearful when isolated, is more confident and excited in a group. It often lives in groups of a few individuals, but much larger social gatherings of dozens of sharks are commonly observed. Outside the period of farrowing, there is no segregation between sexes.
