Fire corals are a common component of coral reefs in tropical seas. They develop in subtropical areas due to the increase in ocean temperature linked with global warming. They are found from 3.2 to 131.2ft (1 to 40m) deep. The sturdy blade shapes are more often present on the edge of the reef, beaten by the waves, or on the flats with strong currents.
