Replacing the infected plane trees
0
0
To replace the plane trees felled to contain the epidemic of colored canker, the hairy oak has been chosen. It will serve as a milestone species by being planted in large sections from one end of the length to the other. Helophytic species such as irises are also introduced to consolidate the banks. The root system of the plane trees is indeed disintegrating. This disease, caused by a microscopic fungus, only attacks plane trees by blocking their sap channels.
