Relief and modeling

The hot addition of a solid glass element - such as a side handle or a foot - can complement blown shapes or introduce a relief decoration to the surface of a piece of glass. By seeking relief and modeling, this technique offers glass a sculptural approach as old as the history of glass itself. Molded, blown, or worked with pliers, the hot-added element can also constitute in itself a miniature figurative sculpture.
