The European bison (Bison bonasus) has been reintroduced into the Monts d'Azur reserve thanks to an international program set up in partnership with Poland. Around fifty specimens now live there in family herds under the shared management of adult females. They move at night and graze or rest in the shelter of the deciduous forests during the day.
