The island of Tiga, in the Loyalty archipelago, does not have any lagoon but has beautiful reef flats dug with canyons. These extend over a hundred meters (328ft) before the drops off of the deep sea. They are full of shells, spider crabs and fish and thus offer the population a welcome food supplement.
