The Lybia crab measures only two centimeters. It is nicknamed the pom-pom crab because it holds a sea anemone at the end of each of its claws. The sea anemone has stinging tentacles, so the Lybia crab uses them to protect itself from predators. The crabs that carry the largest anemones are the females that carry the eggs and must protect them.
