Located between Riquewihr and Aubure, on nearly 2,300 hectares, the Ribeauvillé forest stands out for its exceptional natural and historical heritage. It is an ideal exploration ground for lovers of nature and history, with the added bonus of a most bewitching atmosphere. There are the largest Douglas firs in France, measured at 60.30 meters in 2001 by the National Forestry Office. Another record tree: Europe’s tallest giant sequoia, 57 meters tall. Between the hundred-year-old trees, rocks with astonishing and sometimes very mysterious shapes are revealed, which inspired the myths and legends of Alsace.
