Wild territories, far from the main circulation sea lanes, Austral islands have kept something of their authenticity. It is the case of Raivavae and its crystal blue lagoon. Here, pirogues construction is a tradition rooted in the local culture. Inhabitants never stopped building them for fishing and to provide for their basic needs.
