Le Chêne pédonculé est un arbre feuillu de la famille des Fagacées.
Sa floraison a lieu d’avril à mai, avant feuillaison.
Sa fructification a lieu tous les 2 à 3 ans, à partir de 60 ans. Le fruit est un gland ovoïde. Il mûrit en 1 an environ.
