Lusail’s luxurious Place Vendôme Qatar shopping complex borrows from the classical architecture of Versailles and copies its excessiveness. Complemented by two luxury hotels, the four-storey shopping area surrounds a central open-air square with a large basin, extended by a canal. Equipped with multiple water jets, the basin is the scene of a daily musical show of dancing fountains. 3D lasers animate the place every day from 7pm to 11pm, every hour. The dancing water jets even produce the only artificial rainbow in Qatar. The canal runs along an esplanade lined with cafes and restaurants before flowing directly into the waters of the Persian Gulf.
