Puy Ferrand, its rocks and its corridors
0
0
Puy Ferrand – in the background to the left in the photo – is one of the peaks of the Massif du Sancy, in the Monts Dore. It rises to 6,082 feet (1,854 metres) and overlooks the Chaudefour valley from its Eastern face. The sharp rocks (dykes) on that side (dent de la Rancune, Crête du Coq, aiguille du Moine) attract mountaineers in the summer, and its three main corridors (the direct Ferrand corridor in the center and the side corridors of Moine and Aiguillette) challenge freeriders in the winter.
