Puy de Sancy, a hikers’ landmark
0
0
Puy de Sancy serves as a point of reference and compass for hikers on the GR30 trail, a 123 miles-long (198 km) hiking trail which forms a loop passing through several Auvergne lakes of glacial or volcanic origin. The summit of Puy de Sancy, 6,184 feet high (1,885 metres), is one of the stops on the trail, which could just as easily be called the ‘tour of the Massif du Sancy’, since the highest peak of the Massif Central is visible almost throughout.
