El Cerro de los Siete Colores es uno de los cerros que bordea la Quebrada de Purmamarca, un pueblo indígena ubicado a 64 Km. de San Salvador de Jujuy.
Su nombre se debe a la peculiar gama de colores que se reflejan con los primeros rayos de sol, y que se aprecian en la gran mole rocosa y que varía de tonos naranjas a violetas. Ese arcoíris natural es producto de una compleja historia geológica que incluye sedimentos marinos, lacustres y fluviales elevados por los movimientos tectónicos.
