Przewalski horses, olfactory communication
2
0
Przewalski horses use olfactory communication to recognize each other and to mark their territory. The sense of smell allows the stallions to analyze the urine and droppings of the mares in heat and to cover the droppings of other stallions. Horses greet each other by blowing air through each other's nostrils to probe each other's body odor.
