The Batéguier pond in Sainte-Marguerite Island is the last coastal lagoon in the Alpes-Maritimes department. Integrated into the state-owned biological reserve of the island of the Lérins archipelago, it benefits from specific conservation measures. They aim to fight its natural siltation and the accumulation of nitrogenous matter by runoff of excreta from the nesting birds populations installed on its central islet.
