The Saint-Michel chapel of Serre-Ponçon Lake is forbidden to visit. A protective wall has even been built around the site to prevent access and vandalism. The chapel can be observed from the national road and its car parks or the Baie Saint-Michel named after it. Sightseeing boats approach it in summer, and it is accessible on foot for a few weeks in spring when the lake level is at its lowest to absorb the snowmelt water.
