Camargue bulls live in herds called manades. Their breeding, which brings together around 20,000 heads in the region, is now practiced by 150 manadiers (herdsmen). They train the bulls in arena games and Camargue races where they face raseteurs in front of the public. These gaming and racing skills have enabled the recognition and conservation of the breed since 1998.
