Saint-Honorat Island in the Lérins archipelago is located twenty-five minutes by shuttle from the port of Cannes. Monastic since the 5th century, it is the only island in France to belong to a religious community, that of the Cistercian monks of the Immaculate Conception. It is home to an abbey and some twenty monks of various nationalities who lead a life devoted to prayer, meditation, lectio divina, hospitality, and the work of the vine, their main livelihood.
